What Are Campaigns?
Campaigns are time-limited Categories that usually focus on a specific goal. They have defined start and end dates, and feature an optional prize.
Once a Campaign ends, Idea submission and voting on Ideas in the Campaign freezes, but users can still comment on Ideas and Moderators can still change the state of Ideas.
How Do I View A Campaign?
From the top menu in Kindling, select “Campaigns.” If you do not have access to any Campaigns, this link will appear greyed out.
In the 'Active' tab, A list of Campaigns will appear, along with their end dates, idea count and parent Categories (when applicable). Clicking on the 'Closed' tab will display all Campaigns which have been closed.
Who Can Create a Campaign?
Kindling Administrators can create Campaigns and assign access to any Groups in Kindling. Kindling Moderators can create Campaigns within Categories they moderate. To learn more about creating Campaigns, see this Kindling Academy article.
How Can I View All Ideas in a Campaign?
When viewing a Campaign, select the “All” tab. By default, all Ideas are shown, regardless of state. You can filter the Ideas by state, and also sort by date created, updated, or by the highest number of votes.
How Can I View the Most Popular Ideas in a Campaign?
When viewing a Campaign, select the “Popular” tab. Ideas are ordered by the number of votes they've received.
How Can I See All Ideas That I’ve Voted On in a Campaign?
To see all Ideas you've voted on, click on the tab labeled "Voted".
This will display all of the Ideas you have voted on, in chronological order. Here, you can add and remove votes and review your current vote distribution.
How Can I See All of the Posts That Have Been Added to a Campaign?
In the Campaign, click on the tab labeled "Posts".
This will display all Posts in this Campaign, listed in chronological order.
Can I See Who the Moderators Are in a Specific Campaign?
The avatars of the moderators in any given Campaign are displayed along the right side of each Campaign page.
Clicking on the avatars brings up the profile of the associated Moderator.
How Do I Share a Campaign?
While viewing the Campaign, click on the gear icon on the right side of the screen and select ‘Share’.
In the share dialog box, enter the recipient(s) you would like to share the Campaign with. When entering recipients, keep in mind that the Campaign can only be shared with users who have access to that Campaign.
Next, enter an optional message for the recipient and click the ‘Share’ button.
The recipients will receive an email and in-app notification indicating you have shared a Campaign with them.
How Do I Know When a Campaign Is Ending Soon?
When a Campaign is ending soon, you are notified several ways to ensure that you can contribute your Idea before the Campaign ends.
On the home page of the application, Kindling posts a message in the activity feed when there are 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day remaining in the Campaign.
Also, located in the top right of the home page is a section that shows the active Campaigns in your Kindling. This section will display the three Campaigns with the nearest end date.
Email digests will also indicate that a Campaign is ending soon. Instant notifications are sent at the 3 day point.
How Do I Know When a Campaign Has Ended?
Campaigns end at the expiration of the specified end day. When a Campaign ends, it is announced in several ways.
It’s announced in the activity feed on the home page of the application.
Moderators of the Campaign receive an email notification when the Campaign ends, with a summary of the three most popular Ideas and links to begin evaluating Ideas and making decisions.
Additionally, digest emails will specify that a Campaign has ended. Any Campaign that has ended will appear at the bottom of the list of Campaigns on the Campaigns page.
