What is Kindling?
Kindling is a web-based application that cultivates and manages the ideas of everyone in your organization.
Who is Kindling for?
Kindling is designed for groups who want to promote discussion and innovation within an organization. Companies value Kindling for the way it facilitates idea sharing and discussion. From larger companies who want to give voice to every employee, to smaller companies who need a way to focus conversation, Kindling is a powerful tool for any organization.
Kindling also works for groups of a more social nature. Say you're the president of Student Council and you want to have an online location to propose and discuss ideas. Kindling. Maybe your church or political party wants to involve all its members in planning. Kindling. Your neighborhood association needs to keep track of next year's events? Kindling, Kindling, Kindling.

Where does the name "Kindling" come from?
You know that feeling when you've been rolling something around in your brain for a few days and it's just starting to take shape? And the more people you tell about it, the more the energy builds and burns? And you can almost hear the crackling sounds in the air? THAT's where "Kindling" comes from.
Plus, the light bulb is SO overdone.
What kinds of ideas are best suited for Kindling?
All ideas, big and small, are prime candidates for Kindling.
I have X number of people in my organization. Is Kindling well-suited for that?
One of Kindling's finest features is the opportunity for group discussion and peer-voting system. The system works better if you have more than a couple of people in your group because of the nature of how discussions happen. We think a good minimum number is somewhere around 5 members.
I'm not the head of my organization. Can I still use Kindling?
Absolutely! You might find that grassroots is the way that Kindling works best at your organization. But feel free to approach the head of your organization to propose the idea as well; it's in his or her best interest to tap into that underground brilliance.
Can I install Kindling on my own server?

Who is Arc90?
Arc90 is an experienced team of design and technology professionals based in New York City. Founded in 2004, the Arc90 team is passionate about creating groundbreaking, compelling web/software experiences. Kindling is our first public product launch.
How is Kindling used at Arc90?
Kindling was born when one of Arc90's developers, Chris Dary, heard one too many great ideas around the lunch table and realized that there was no good way to collect the brilliance of everyone in the office.
Chris built Kindling as a side project for use by Arc90, and now it has become critical to the way we think about thinking. Arc90 has implemented many ideas generated within our own walls, from a new Wii game for the office to the evolution of Kindling as a product.
Now we can't live without it and we're pretty sure you'll feel the same way.
